EARTH DAY BLOG HOP
If you are coming from Steph’s blog, you’re in the right place and if you’re just stopping by you can start here. Don’t forget to leave a comment on each blog to be entered into the many draws for prizes. Usually I made cards, but today I broke the tradition and create a board for my notes or photos. This was a plain frame that I bought in Craft & Arts store. It was black, with chevron burlap background. Didn’t have the metal flower and my big surprise was discovered that the board was on metal or magnet.

I decided to change the color the color of the frame. For this I removed the board and painted the frame using Earth Safe Finishes Chalk It Up Huckleberry Cobbler, a beautiful dark blue. I covered all the black with two layers. Then when the paint was totally dried and using a sand paper I created a some distress over the borders of the frame. This sand removed me the Huckleberry Cobbler and the black paint.

With the board, I also work. I removed the chevron burlap and turn around to use the plain side. Over this I painted with my stencils from Stencil Girl. I used Deconstructed Cluster of Lilies Mask and Stencil with ESF Chalk It Up Cherry Jubilee and English Tea Cake. And I mixed the ESF Texture Smooth with Ann Butler Iridescents Sheer Gold and Sheer Bronze and a few drops of Sheer Tangelo to give color of the paste and use this with the stencils Never Ending Caledar Mini and Eddy Rose 6 Stencil. When the burlap was dried I pasted again over the board using a Quick Grip All Purpose Permanent Adhesive.

Then I secured the board again to the frame and to covert some details that don’t look perfectly I pasted a metal flower that I bought and enhance the colors using Ann Butler Iridescents Sheer Silver, Pearl and Sheer Gold.
