Masking techniques are amazing and unlimited. And when we have new sets it’s very easy for the imagination to fly!

Welcome dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a card created with the Masking Technique and a new stamp set from Joy Clair Stamps called Doodle Flowers. Take a look at my card:

MASKING TECHNIQUE WITH NEW STAMP SETS

We are in spring and flowers are my passion no matter the season. These flowers are part of the Doodle Flowers set and this set comes with different elements, including a jar but I wanted to use it in a different way. Thinking of this, I created a circle masking area over a whisper white layer using masking paper and circle die cut.

MASKING TECHNIQUE WITH NEW STAMP SETS

First I cut the circle die cut over the masking paper and then I placed the entire piece of masking over the whisper white card stock. I removed the tape from the negative part and pasted it over the layer to keep the circle in place. Then I moved the circle and as result I had the circle area free and masked to cover it with Soft sky ink using a jumbo dauber or any blending tool. When you finish inking the circle, paste the circle of masking paper in place.

Now it is time to remove the negative part of the die cut to stamp the images around the masked circle. I used the big bunch of flowers and some individual flowers included on the Doodle Flowers set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

When I was satisfied with the stamping I removed the masked circle and stamped the sentiment. I used two different words included on another new set from Joy Clair, Hello Sentiments.

I colored the flowers using stampin’ markers and splattered some drops of Glimmer Mist Golden Orange from Tattered Angels. I pasted the decorated layer with dimensionals over a whisper white card base to finish my card.

I love to create clear and simple cards and this is one of my favorites! The Doodle flowers set is great for coloring or embossing and works incredibly with different techniques.
