Poinsettia and Jesus is my Jam
Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here with two Christmas cards that I made using new stamps from Joy Clair. You may know that I am Colombian and my primary language is Spanish, so you can guess how happy I am with the new stamp set 3D Christmas Poinsettia because it includes a sentiment in Spanish!!! During the launching blog hop we asked to our readers which was their favorite set and today I am revealing my favorite, so here it is:
I love Christmas season, I love to make projects for this season but this year I feel a different emotion because I have one set in Spanish from the company that I love, Joy Clair and this 3D Christmas Poinsettia is simply amazing to work because it comes in layers so you can assemble it and make the size that you want.
I stamped the different images with Versafine Onix over watercolor paper and colored each part with a Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors Set. This is a collection of 36 watercolors that I recently bought and I highly recommended it. When the colored pieces were totally dry, I painted with a thin layer of clear wink of Stella and fussy cut with scissors. But remember that all Joy Clair images come with SVG files to be used with any electronic cutting machine. I assemble the 3D Christmas Poinsettia using glue dots and started with the larger flower, that for me is the middle flower and then added the big petals red and green to have a great dimension.
I created the base of the card using natural white card stock. I love the texture of this card stock and I just stamped my Feliz Navidad on top right corner with Versafine Onix and pasted the completed 3D Christmas Poinsettia.
To embellish the card on the center of the flower I added some dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops Pale Gold, but if you don’t want to use it you can use the small pieces that are included with the stamp set.
My second project is using a Color by Faith stamp set called Jesus is my Jam. This set is perfect for Bible Journaling but since we are in Christmas season I decided to make a twist and show you how versatile it can be. Take a look at my card:
During Christmas we celebrate a lot of parties and I think that is also time to reflection, to dig deep and feel grateful with all that we have, time to celebrate life and celebrate things that we “don’t have time” to see normally. This is the reason of my card.
To make this I stamped some of the images included on the set Jesus is my Jam with Versafine Onix over Whisper White cardstock and I pasted the stamped layer directly over an Old Olive card base. Then I created a belt pr banner with a decorated paper and green olive cardstock. I pasted behind of this belt an entire layer of fun foam to give it more dimension. Then, in a separate piece of real red cardstock I cut a decorated frame using the Loopy Rectangles Dies from Gina Marie Designs and stamped over it one of the sentiments and two other images with Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder.
To embellish the card, I added some green and red sequins around the images.
