VINTAGE CHRISTMAS CARD

Christmas is a fun and happy time and I love to use traditional colors on my cards. Normally winter is blue, but a little touch of red inspired me to use the power of the embossing powder because my card was literally created with embossing powders and some touches of colors with ink.  I used different layers to inspired you  to participate on our Use Your Stuff Challenge that this week has layer as theme. Take a look at my card and let me show you how you can make one just like it:

VINTAGE CHRISTMAS CARD

Take a piece of very vanilla card stock and stamp your image using Black Metallic Delicata Ink. It’s perfect for this season.  Cover the stamped image with Clear Embossing Powder and melt with the heat tool.  I used an image from the stamp set Holly Collage by  Cuddly Buddly.

Color the details of your image using Kaleidacolor inks and Fantastix. To mix the inks I used Ink Potion No. 9. After this, I resized the image cutting the borders of the paper.

Using another piece of very vanilla card stock, create a mat for your painted image. Using VersaMark, ink the four borders of this piece and cover it with Candy Red Embossing Powder. Melt the powder with the heat tool

Paste your painted image over the candy red mat using Tear it! Tape.

Cut the base of your card using Very Vanilla card stock. The size is 4-1/4”x11” with score in 5-1/2”.

Paste the decorated layer over the card base using Tear it! Tape.

If you want to finalize the decoration you can cut a die cut word several times to complement the message. Paste these in place and paste the entire piece over your card. With layers you always have great dimension. If you want to participate of the Use Your Stuff Challenge, just click HERE and join us!
