Textures are always amazing and when you create over non-traditional materials like wood, you feel a double satisfaction! In this project I am sharing with you how to color the wood pieces and how to emboss them if you want. Take a look at my card:

Wood Coloring & Embossing

It is actually very easy to find beautiful designs on wood in craft stores. I have this feather that was created by Unique Laser Designs and I decided to have on it a double texture effect. With this in mind, I applied GooseBumps with the Dauber Top bottle. This product came in two presentations, dauber top and spray, but with the dauber top I can take control of the effect that I am creating.

I had to wait until the goosebumps dried well to continue with the process. It dries with the air and doesn’t require heat.

In a while I prepared the card base and the layers of my card. I used Elegant Eggplant card stock for the base, a decorated paper for the second layer and whisper white for the third layer. I cut the last one using a die cut from the Blueprints 27 Collection from MFT Die-namics. I pasted this layer over the base using double sided fun foam.

When the feather was totally dry, I applied Memento Luxe Sweet Plum on the center directly with the ink pad and Memento Luxe Eldelberry on the borders, also directly with the ink pad.

Then I covered the inked feather with Clear Embossing Powder and melted with the heat tool.

Without using the Goosebumps, I repeat the ink and embossing process with a wood heart just to show you the difference on the texture.

I die cut a word sentiment twice using two colors of card stock and overlap them a little moved using On Point Glue and pasted the three elements over the card with the same glue.
