DESIGN YOUR OWN WASHI TAPE
Designing and creating my own planner, and personalizing it with embellishments that I make myself is part of the fun. With traditional mailing labels and different inks from Imagine, I made my own “washi tape” and you can make some for yourself. Let me share with you this easy process:
- Take a label sheet and place a stencil over it. Secure the stencil with masking tape. If you want you can cover only a section of the sheet with the stencil.
- Apply Creative Medium Iridescent Turquoise over the free areas of the stencil. With this product, you will have a light touch of color.
- . If you want to intensify the color, can mix the creative medium with Memento Ink. I just added a few sweeps of Memento Dusk and Memento Desert Sand over the mat and mix them with the creative medium to have a darker color with the iridescent touch.
- You don’t need to remove the stencil to change the colors, just keep it in place and apply your different combinations.
- To change the design and texture, remove the stencil and let the creative medium dry. Take a different stencil and place over the same label sheet. Secure it with masking tape. Apply VersaMark Ink Pad directly with the pad over the free areas of the stencil, remove the stencil and cover the ink with Gold Embossing Powder or any other color of embossing powder. Then melt with the heat tool.
- To finalize the design on this area of the label sheet, you can take a border stamps or any other stamp and stamp it directly over the sheet. I used border stamps with different dimensions and Brilliance Ink Pearlescent Jade.
- To create your own washi tape you only need to remove the labels from the adhesive sheet and resize them according with the size of your planner. SUPPLY LIST:Imagine Crafts
