Hello everyone! If you know me or follow me maybe you know that I always say that stencils are my endless love. Today, I am sharing with you a card created with a dimensional stencil.

DIMENSIONAL BACKGROUND CARD

When I say dimensional , I am referring to stencils that you can move or rotate to create special effects. On this card I am using the Weave Builder Stencil from Altenew with two different colors of Memento Ink, Lulu Lavender and Grape Jelly.

Directions:

DIMENSIONAL BACKGROUND CARD

  1. Take a piece of whisper white card stock and secure your stencil with masking tape.
  2. Select the colors of Memento Ink that you want to use. I suggest uing familiar colors if you want to create a “progressive effect”
  3. Start applying the dark color with a jumbo dauber or if you want you can also use a brush. In my sample it is the Grape Jelly.
  4. Rotate your stencil and form the pattern that you would like.
  5. Follow the process with the soft color of ink.
  6. Resize the stenciled layer and paste directly over the mat and card base.

DIMENSIONAL BACKGROUND CARD

  1. Using Vellum cardstock, cut the butterfly design. In my model I used two different layers , the A and D, from the Sparkler Butterfly Stackable Dies.
  2. Create some loops using linen thread and paste over the card using glue dots.
  3. Paste over the thread the vellum butterfly and decorate on the center with an irResistable drop.
  4. Finish the card adding a stamped sentiment. In my model I used one sentiment included on the stamp set Life’s Breeze from Joy Clair Stamps.
