DRAGONFLY CELEBRATION

Dragonfly celebration is the card that I made today for So Suzy Stamps. I love dragonflies and this is a very special stamp because depending of how you color it, you can give it different styles. Take a look at my card:

I made this using a watercolor technique and partially coloring some details of the dragonfly stamp. The first thing that I did was choose the colors of distress ink that I wanted to use: I selected three blues and two greens.

I applied the ink directly over an acrylic block and with an aqua painter or water brush I applied the ink over the watercolor paper, starting with the blues. When I was satisfied with the colors I let the paper dry and decided where to stamp the dragonfly image and the sentiment Careful what you wish for at the same time using the misti (SSS). I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I kept the dark blue just for accents and using the paint brush I enhanced some details of the dragonfly and splattered the ink around the layer.

When the watercolor layer was totally dry I pasted it over a card base leaving a colored border to create a better contrast and I added some blue sequins.
