EMBOSSING WITH STENCIL TECHNIQUE
Stencils are my passion and endless love and today I want to share a fun technique with you: Embossing with stencil technique! It is easy, fun and beautiful, perfect for impressing our friends with beautiful cards or presents during Christmas time. Take a look at my card and let me show you how you can make one just like it:
- Take a piece of card stock and secure your stencil over it using masking tape. Then ink the free areas of your stencil directly the VersaMark pad.
- Remove the stencil and wash with warm water. Cover your inked image with embossing powder. I am using the Pressed Leaves Stencil from Stencil Girl and Verdigris Embossing Powder. Melt the powder with the heat tool.
- Take a branch stamp from the stamp set Vintage Post by Hero Arts and stamp this several times over the embossed image using Memento Desert Sand Ink. This step will add dimension to your image.
- Take a separate piece of paper and stamp the image of the cardinal bird using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
- Color your stamped image using Kaleidacolor Ink and Fantastix. I used the Tomato Vine Collection. Cut your bird with the corresponding die cut or with scissors and paste over the decorated layer using dimensional.
- Stamp your sentiment using Black Shimmer Delicata Ink and cover it with Clear embossing powder. Melt the powder with the heat tool.
- Cut the base of the card using Garden Green card stock. The size is 4-1/4”x11” with score in 5-1/2.
- Paste the decorated layer over the card base using Tear it! Tape.
