This month the Artist in Residence Team made a wonderful  exercise or Swap Project.  Each designer created a project and send the instructions and photo to our coordinator. Then we received another project to follow the instructions and without photo.  This is the swap project that I received and can you believe that after made the card I discovered who was the author of the instructions….we recognize styles !

Following Instructions - Swap Project

Directions:

Create the base of the card using Old olive card stock. The size of my card is a regular size 4-1/4″ x11″ with score in 5-1/2″. Following Instructions - Swap ProjectCut a white cardstock of 4″x5-1/4″. Place a background pattern stencil on the white panel and ink with lime ink. I used Memento Brillian Perlascent Lime. Each with lime ink and mat with a brown card stock. Following Instructions - Swap ProjectInk sheer ribbon with lime ink. When dry, wrap around matted panel. Knot with twine on the right side of panel.

Added the panel to the card with foam adhesives. Following Instructions - Swap ProjectUsing a stamp positioning tool and a flower stamp , ink the steam and leaves with the Lime ink. Ink the flower with the Angel Pink Memento Marker. Stamp image onto white cardstock . Re-stamp the flower using the Rose Bug Memento Marker around the edges. Fussy cut the image.

Notes:

  • My Angel Pink Memento Marker is a very used for me and I noticed on my stamped image that it couldn’t see it enough. I enhance the tone using the darker marker.
  • I don’t fussy cut the image because I didn’t read this part and only just discovery it when I am writing the tutorial to you…so don’t forget to read well!

Die cut brown and white cardstock shapes with graduating sized dies. Adhere together with tear tape. Place on left side of card with foam adhesives, overlapping the ribbon. Trim shapes as needed to align with patterned piece on left edge. Adhere the stamped image on top. Following Instructions - Swap Project

Note:

  • Like I didn’t fussy cut the flower,  I decided not overlap the ribbon and paste the die cuts over the ribbon. I used square cross stitched die cuts from Gina Marie Designs.

Following Instructions - Swap ProjectStamp “Just For You” sentiment in Lime Ink. Ink edges and mat with brown cardstock. Add near top of card with foam adhesives.

Note:

  • At the moment I didn’t have a Just For You sentiment in a good size and I replaced with another… Dear Friend included on the same stamp set that I used to stamp the flower.

Definitely it was a very good experience and the best part that was I could replace some materials and give to the project my personal touch.
