Joy Clair Designs New Release – Blog Hop

Fresh new year, fresh new release! That’s right – today I’m part of a blog hop for the Joy Clair Designs New Release, and if this is your first time here, welcome!

I’ve said during several Joy Clair Designs hops before that the release is my favorite, but I really, really mean it this time – this one is an absolute stunner! There’s modern florals and critters with fabulous sentiments that I’ve been dreaming of!. Let’s take a peek, shall we?!

I am featuring the new Sweet Friends Digital Stamps and these stamps are definitely totally cute! First, I resized two of the images included on the Sweet Friends and one sentiment. Then, using the Silhouette software, I created my layout. I printed it onto White Smooth Card Stock.

If you noticed, I am using the same two images on my card. I just flip them to create the sensation of movement and let these two parakeets have a funny chat.

Then, I colored the parakeets with TriBlend Markers from Spectrum Noir changing a little the tones of green and red. Additionally, I resized the layer with one of the dies included on the Layering Rectangle Slimline Dies and pasted it, over the card base that was created with White Smooth Card stock.

To finalize the card, I embellished the top layer with a frame created with the Delighted Lace Rectangle Slimline Dies and the Layering Rectangle Slimline Dies. I pasted it over the decorated card with foam tape. The final touch, is the sentiment in the middle of these sweet friends.

My second card is also featuring the Sweet Friends Digital Stamps. This set includes a delicious bar of chocolate that I duplicated to create my design.

For the sentiment, I used one of the three included on the Sweet Friends Digital Stamps. I just printed it at the same time over White Smooth Card Stock in my ink jet printer.

I colored the chocolate with TriBlend Markers from Spectrum Noir. Additionally, to make my card more special, I made a 3D embossed background using Distress Oxide Ink and the 3D Embossing Folder Regency Swirls from Crafters Companion.
