Hello crafty friends, it’s my turn to share a challenge with you for World Card Making Day! This is a fantastic event and we are so proud that you are sharing with us! My challenge for you is create a “Clean and Simple” (CAS) project. I love clean and simple designs. Take a look at my project:
For my card I used the stamp set Spring Time Flowers and one image form the set Doodle Flowers. I selected a honeycomb stencil to create the background using fossilized amber distress ink directly over the card base that is whisper white. However here is my first TIP: Color! White space doesn’t have to be just white. Using colored card or paper in large blocks can still be CAS.
Then I stamped the Flowers in a separate piece of Whisper White card stock and the mason jar using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I only inked the mason jar using the same color of the background and fussy cut all the images with my scissors. This is my second TIP: Time! Take your time. Even a CAS card can take an hour if you want to make it perfect, and get the look you want.
I arranged the flowers using foam tape. I pasted the jar with glue dots over the flowers and here is my third TIP: Minimal! The less you put on you card means it has to be perfect as it will be easy to see even the slightest mistake.
And the last TIP: Embellishment! Even CAS cards can have lots of added extras. Ink or paint, sequins, Glossy Accents or Enamel Accents and heat embossing even die cuts can all add lots of important detail and texture to a CAS project. On this sample I just added a few loops of natural twine on top of the jar and it made a big difference on this look.
I hope something I made will inspire you to make some CAS cards with stamps, stencils, dies, inks, or anything that makes you happy! I can’t wait to see your creative cards for this amazing challenge.
Prize: One randomly chosen project that is linked up will win a stamp set from Joy Clair Store.
