Hi there, I just pop up to share a great technique, Alcohol Marker Coloring on Vellum. Normally the inks don’t dry easily on Vellum but the Illustrator Markers from Spectrum Noir work very well.

Let me share all the details about my card. First, this is a slimline size card. The size that I use to create this cards is 3-1/2″x8-1/2″ closed. I pick a piece of Early Espresso card stock and cut my card base. Then, I die cut a second layer with the large size of the Looped Lace Petite Rectangle Slimline Dies available at Joy Clair Designs Store. To cut it, I used Designer Paper. You can find a great collection on Joy Clair store of 8″x6″ that are good to cut decorative layers.

I continue the process cutting a piece of white card stock. To cut it, I used one of the layers included on the Layering Rectangle Slimline Dies. Then, I decorated the white layer with the Gum Leaves Stencil and two different colors of distress ink. And pasted over the Looped layer with Crafty Foam Tape.

COLORING ON VELLUM PROCESS

The images that I am using are part of the new set Blessed & Grateful from Joy Clair Designs. It is a digital set, so it is very easily to resize and arrange according with my preferences.  Normally, I use a free program in my computer to create the design of my cards. On this opportunity, I printed this design onto Vellum card stock. My printer is an ink-jet printer that is secure for alcohol Markers.

To color my images I prefer to use Illustrator Markers and this card was not the exception. I turned out the printed image and colored with Illustrators the different images. My first tip is let to dry each layer, don’t apply two colors at the same time. The color markers that I use on this card were: CT1-GY2-GY4-OR1-B04-TN9-HB1-DP1-DP3-LG1-LG3.

To finalize the card, I resized the layer with the same size of the Layering Rectangles Slimline Dies and pasted it with Adhesive Glue Dots.

See you soon!
