Pattern created with a metallic stencil and color pencils
Hi there, today I have a card created with a simple coloring with stencils. I love the pattern designs and colored them with color pencils is really simple. I am using the ColourBlend Pencils from the Florals Collection from Spectrum Noir.
DETAILS:
I started with a metallic stencil and a light color with the perfect sharpened point. I just traced the design of the white card stock with the light color that I wanted to use, colourblend Honey. You can also use plastic stencils if you prefer.
Then, I removed the stencil and started the real coloring process. I decided to start on the middle of the sheet to divide the space in two tones.
The first set of colors that I used were Honey, Tangerine and used Redcurrant like transition color. For me is easier start with a soft layer of color and then intensify the tone with more layers.
I colored around half of the layer with the this combination of colors.
When I was satisfied with the first part of the coloring following the stencil design, I started the other half of the sheet. I used the Redcurrant color to base tone for the shapes.
Then, I completed the layer with this combination of colors Redcurrant, Cherry Red and Rose Red.
To finalize the card, I just resized and layered the colored piece over a brown mat and green card base to create a great contrast. Additionally, like I don’t want to compete with the colorful background created with the stencil pattern, I just stamped some flowers from the stamp set Reckless Loves and a sentiment from the Succulent Frame set with Finesse Alcohol Proof Dye Noir onto white cardstock. Both stamp sets are from Joy Clair Designs.
I hope you all enjoyed the card I created today! Until next time, happy crafting!!
