QUICK QUOTES AND CLEAR SCRAPS CROSS PROMOTION
Hello Crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to celebrate the first day of our cross promotion between two fabulous companies: Quick Quotes Scrapbook and Clear Scraps! To make this very special, I decided to make a scrapbook page…yes, no cards today! And I used an Acrylic Shape to create my layout. Take a look at my project:
When you have the right elements, it is very easy to develop the creative work, and making this page was very easy and fun. I chose the 12×12 layout Mom from Clear Scraps and the Honeycomb 103 Quick Quotes paper as basic elements to create my page. The 12×12 layout Mom comes in Acrylic shape and I only had to remove the film on both sides and ink it with different colors of PowderPuff Chalk Ink.
For the borders of the square frames I used Mahogany PowderPuff Chalk Ink. For the flourish I used Desert Sun PowderPuff Chalk Ink, for the M letters I used Jade PowderPuff Chalk Ink, for the heart I used Lipstick PowderPuff Chalk Ink and for the flowers I used Royal Blue PowderPuff Chalk Ink and Violet PowderPuff Chalk Ink. On the majority of the parts I applied the inks directly with the ink pad but in other parts I used a sponge to avoid the contamination of the colors of ink. After the ink dries well, it stays permanent over the acrylic.
I chose the Honeycomb 103 as the base for my page because the colors are enhanced over the clear background, but to create a contrast I made a mat for some of the spaces that the layout has. I printed all the photos included on my layout using the Canon PIXMA TS 9020. This is fabulous too, because I can select and arrange my photos from my phone or Social Media and print directly on it. For the big space I used a photo of my mother and I, and I made a mat for this with two different papers from the Mulberry Collection. For the first mat of the photo I inked the borders with Desert Sand PowderPuff Chalk Ink before pasting it back to the photo. The background mat has the same size of the Clear Scrap Mom layout.
To enhance the details of the Clear Scrap 12×12 layout Mom, I stamped some flowers over Mulberry Collection paper using the same colors of PowderPuff Chalk Inks that I used to give color to the acrylic layout, and I decorated some parts with Novu Crystal Drops.
If you are wondering how I pasted the Mom layout over the Honeycomb 103 paper, let me tell you that this step was very easy. I used glue dots in some parts and I covered the dots with the stamped images and the photos and mats help me to secure the center on squares.
