Rita Barakat & Faber Castell Blog Hop
Hi there! Today I’m excited to be a part of Rita Barakat & Faber Castell Blog Hop. You should have arrived from Betz Golden Blog and Yolie Burke is your next stop. If you get lost you can find the full hop list below.
Now is time to show you the projects that I made using Gelatos and some other products from Faber Castell. These products combine wonderful with the Designs of Rita Barakat.
A few years ago, I believed that Gelatos from Faber Castell were exclusive products to be used on mixed media creations. With the time, I discovered that Gelatos are one of the most versatile products that we could have. They are perfect for cardmakers to coloring, to use with stencils, to create special backgrounds, to watercolor and much more. Now I can say, that I falling in love with Gelatos. Let me show my creations.
To make this card, I applied gesso over the whisper white card base and let it dry. Then I applied some colors included on the Iridescent Collection. I just rub easily over the card base and diluted with water and paint brush. I let the card stock dry well and then, I placed a stencil over the colored card and with a baby wipe I “removed” the colors around the free areas of the stencil.
To finalize my card, I pasted the colored layer over a basic black card base and decorated the top with the middle size of the Stitched Note & Frames Confetti Cuts from Reverse Confetti and with one of the Beautiful Bloom Die Cut Collection. The message is a sentiment included on the stamp set No Probllama from Joy Clair.
My second card is a CAS style. I just applied some colors of Translucent Gelatos to create a ombre look over a piece of card stock that I prepared with gesso. With water and a paint brush I mix the colors in horizontal way and die cut the piece using one of the Zig Zag Stitched borders of Kat Scrappiness.
On this card, I also used one of the Beautiful Blooms from Rita Barakat and one sentiment from the stamp set Heir of God by Joy Clair Stamps.
For my third card, I used Silver and Gold Metallic Gelatos and a pattern created with one Aladine Stencil over basic black card stock. I just traced the free areas of the stencil and then colored one by one the tiny triangles with the Metallic Gelatos.
To finalize the card, I added the large frame from the Stitched Note & Frames Confetti Cuts from Reverse Confetti and with one of the Beautiful Bloom Die Cut Collection. The message are words included on the stamp set Be Wise by Joy Clair.
My last project is the July month that I made on my Canvo Bullet Journal. To make this I used one of the stencils included on the Card Making for Beginners KIt from Faber Castell. I traced it over the bullet journal with a XS Piti Artist Penand colored with watercolor pencils that came included on the kit.
