I love using stencil and inks in my cards. For me it is one the perfect combinations to make something unique. But did  you know that you could use the stencils with paste and gels to create special texture? It’s so easy and today I want to share one of my samples using this technique.

Actually you can find different and very good textures on the market. Some of them are available as paste, mediums and gels. In today project, I am using Texture Paste from Aladine.

DETAILS ABOUT THE PROCESS:

Start securing your stencil on top of your card stock. It will avoid that the stencil move free and you don’t get an uniform layer. Normally to secure my stencils, I used washi tape or the magnets of my Make Art. Then, you can apply your texture paste from up to down always in the same direction. Avoid to add a lot of paste. And last one, let the paper dry naturally. These products are made to use with calm to obtain great results.

ABOUT THE CARD:

After create my background using the Water Ripples Stencil available at Joy Clair Designs Store and the Topaz Texture Paste from Aladine, I let the layer dry totally. Then, I die cut a zig zag stitched rectangle on the center of the layer and let it a side for a while. Additionally, I pasted the negative part directly over a white card base using dual tip glue pen and pasted the center part with crafty foam tape.

To don’t compete with this fabulous background created with stencil and paste, I used some of the stamps included on the Baby Shark Stamp Set from Joy Clair that I stamped with  VersaFine Onix and colored with Illustrator Markers from Spectrum Noir. I used IG1 & iG3, BGR1 & BGR3 and CR5 for the sharks and BO1, GY3 and GY1 for the other critters.
