Texture in hand made cards
Summer has arrived and what better way to celebrate than with a striking tangerine orange project. What a beautiful color! When I saw the challenge, I thought of the neon colors in the Tsukineko’s Radiant Neon Amplify. I made this card using “hello,” cherry blossom and flamingo die cuts but, the best part of this card is the wild background created with Amplify. Amplify reacts to the heat tool and creates a soft look with a 3-D effect. The clean crisp die cuts provide a contrast to the texture craziness in the background. Start by taking a piece of light colored card stock and the stencil and secure them both over the craft mat with masking tape. Add drops of Electric Yellow Neon Amplify and Electric Orange Neon Amplify over the free areas of the stencil and mix the colors with the roller. Amplify feels like a paint when it is wet, so a few drops will roll quickly and also may slip under your stencil a bit. Remove the stencil and use a heat tool to activate the foaming quality. Be careful not to over heat and burn the texture. Secure your decorated layer on a basic black card base with Tear It! Tape.
Using white card stock cut the cherry blossom and flamingo die cuts. Paste flamingo and cherry blossom over the Amplify background using On Point Glue and decorate the center of the flowers with irRESISTible Tuxedo Black. Cut a “hello” sentiment from black card stock and paste with OnPoint Glue and you have completed a quick and easy handmade card! Enjoy!
