Textured Card with Paper Flowers
Hello everyone, thank you for joining me today! Our challenge this week on Secret Garden is very special: we need to use a stencil, texture paste or embossing paste, and color spray and of course a lot of paper flowers. I really enjoy creating this project because texture and flowers are my obsessions. Take a look at my card:
To create this I used Calypso Coral card base and Very Vanilla card stock for the decorated layer. I created my texture using Creative Medium Purple and a Dream Weaver stencil. I let the paper dry and some time after, I colored the digital butterfly using Prismacolor color pencils and fussy cut it with my scissors. I also die cut some branches using textured card stock. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set Faith Quotes using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and created a different form of mat to this sentiment using Basic Black card stock.
The creative medium is iridescent and with a metallic touch that I love. I decided to paste the butterfly first and then arrange the paper flowers around it. In this opportunity I used three Mulberry Paper Open Roses on Purple or Lilac, two Aster Daisy in Lilac and two in white. Then I added the branches and when I was totally satisfied with the look of my card I added some ink splatter of Glimmer Mist French Lime from Tattered Angels.
I hope this project inspires you to combine these amazing paper flowers with your digital stamps, your regular stamps and with many textures and inks. This is only one sample but if you want to see more inspiration and ideas just click HERE and you will see all the samples created by the other members of the team.
Oh my goodness, Martha! My sweet friend, you have outdone yourself with this absolutely gorgeous card! Hugs, Sabrina
