Vintage Christmas Card
Hello crafty friends, I like to experiment things and stretch my crafty products. I just discovered that I have the Essential Collection of AquaBlend Pencils from Spectrum Noir and decided that was time to explore different things. The result was this vintage Christmas card. But let me share with you a fast tip that can help you on the process.
Directions:
- Stamp the main image onto watercolor paper using a red watercolor ink. To make my project I used the Harmony Water Reactive Chinese Red by Spectrum Noir.
- The Essentials AquaBlend Collection by Spectrum Noir is ideal to color skin, hair and soft tones but I decided to use the Apricot and Coral AquaBlend pencils to start the coloring of my Poinsettia petals. I applied the color near to the stamped lines or ink lines and with an aquapaint or paint brush and water I mixed the colors and distribute it around the petals.
- After colored the entire flowers I continue with the leaves around it. For that I used the Nutmeg and Ginger Colors. All these colors mixed perfectly with the original red that I used to stamp the main image. On the second above photo, you noticed that I enhanced some vines of the petals with the Nutmeg AquaBlend color. Then I dilute the color with the paint brush and water.
- For the branches I used Tobacco, Black Umber and Umber AquaBlend pencils. Like the Harmony Ink that I used is Water Reactive at the time of mix the colors your will obtain a soft touch of red that will add a good definition of each branch.
- To finalize the card, I resized the layer with a Embossed Edge Rectangle and pasted the colored layer over a Read Hood Card stock. As final touch I added some jewels brown.
