Watercolor with pencils and stamps
I love coloring and watercolor with pencils and stamps is an unique technique to make all your images pop up. I am using the AquaBlend pencils from Spectrum Noir with one of my favorites stamps, Martha’s Flowers from Joy Clair Designs. Additionally, I am featuring the spotlight technique and the result is always fantastic! It’s so easy, and that is what today’s tutorial is all about.
TECHNIQUE TUTORIAL:
- Stamp the image onto white card stock and watercolor card stock. I used Finesse Water Proof Dye Noir Black for the watercolor card stock and Finesse Alcohol-Proof Dye to the regular card stock. In my project I am using Neenah Classic Ultra Smooth Solar Whtie and Spectrum Noir Premium Watercolor Card Stock.
- Select any die cut shape that you want to highlight. Secure it on the watercolor piece and with a pencil trace a soft line to define your working area. I am using a heart shape from Kat Scrappiness.
- Start coloring with your selection of colors from the AquaBlend color pencils. To color my stamps, I always started with the light tones.
- To create a soft blend, I am applying the color with a aqua brush or aquapinter. I took the color with the aquapainter from the point of the color pencil.
On this project the Aquablend colors that I used were: Dandelion, Shire Green and Glacier Blue from the Earth Tones and Cherry, Rustic Red, Tangerine, Sun Flower, Julep, Forest Green, Berry, Blush and Bubblegum from the Vivid Hues Collection. - Let your paper dry well after finalize the coloring. Then, die cut the shape onto the colored area.
- Paste the colored shape onto the first stamped layer that you made with regular card stock.
To finalize the card, just resize the layer and paste over a card base. Add a sentiment from the Martha’s Flowers Stamp Set.Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your coloring time!
