Queen for a day – Mother’s Day Card

Hi all! Today I’m back with The Cutting Cafe with the adorable Crowns Templates – Cutting File  set.

I thought it would be fun to create a Crown Card specialty for Mother’s Day, that is around the corner. I used the Assorted Crown Templates – Cutting File on my Cricut Explore using the SVG file version, but remember that these files also came in PDF and additional  versions that you can use in any electronic cutting machine.

The base of my card is Smoky Slate cardstock. The second layer or front of the crown is a Mulberry designer paper from Quit Quotes Scrapbook Company.

Special details

To decorate the crown and create the message, I used one of the sentiments included on the two pages of sentiments that came with the cutting file. I printed it and cut it with a cross stitched circle die cut from Gina Marie Designs.

Using the same die cut I created a color area with So Safron Classic Ink. Then, I cut a scallop frame in Poppy Parade cardsotck using one of the die cuts included on the Layering Circles Framelits. These work perfectly with a lot of my die cuts and bring to the card more dimension.

To finalize the Crown, I added some Red rhinestones in two different sizes.
