Inlaid die cut technique with ADORNit

Hi there! I’m back with ADORNit  and today I’m sharing a card that I made using one illustrations included on the Adornit Art Play Paintables. I am featuring the What’s New Paintable created by Catherine Scanlon.  But today I used the inlaid die cut technique to make my card more special.

What’s New Paintable is a great page to create different projects if you love flowers. This 12×12 page  has 12 illustrations with the perfect size to create regular cards. I used one of these flower illustrations without sentiment, but if you see the page What’s New Paintable you will find some of them with sentiment and ready to cut and paste over your card base.

I painted the flowers with Premium Colored Pencils from Leisure Arts and they blended wonderful on the watercolor paper of all the Art Play Paintable. I mixed colors and gave different tones to each flower. I love the texture of this watercolor paper and how special look each flower.

Before to paste the painted layer over the basic black card base, I decided to use the inlaid die cut technique that is very easy and elegant. First, I die cut over the colored layer or painted paintable the word HEY using the  Large Letters Framelits Dies by Stampin Up. I also cut the same letters using black fun foam and pasted the negative part directly over a basic black layer. Then I paste the fun foam letters and the colored letter on the same place. I just made this to create a high or have more dimension.
