Hello crafty friends, welcome to It’s a Girl Thing Blog Hop. This blog hop has been organized by our friend Lori Kobular to spread the word about Turner Syndrome. This syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born missing her second X Chromosome, leaving her with life long medical issues. It affects 1 in every 2,000 to 2,500 girls but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to term (miscarriages and stillbirths).

Joy Clair Designs and Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps are proud sponsors of the It’s a girl thing blog hop. Both design teams and  many other invited designers prepared different projects to share it with you and help to promote the investigations about the syndrome.

My first card for the  It’s a girl thing blog hop is a colorful card that I made using the Proverbs 31 stamp set from Joy Clair Designs and the Life of the Party Collection of Catherine Pooler Inks.

It's a Girl Thing Blog Hop

The background of my card was made using a cloud stencil in combination with the different colors of ink included on the Life of the Party Collection of Catherine Pooler Inks. These are in down to up order Tiara, Lime Rickey, Aquatin, Party Dress. Aquatini, Tutti Frutti, Flirty Fuchsia, Something Borrowed and Lime Rickey. I stamped one of the big sentiments  included on the Proverbs 31 stamp set with VersaFine Onix on the center of the inked layer. I believe these are perfect for the It’s a girl thing blog hop.

I resized the layer with the large size of the Embossed Edge Rectangle Die from Kat Scrappiness and pasted it directly over the card base. To enhance the sentiment, I used a die cut frame from the Pretty Frames 2 by Pink Fresh Studio Ssential Dies.

My second card for the It’s a girl thing blog hop is a colorful card too. For this, I used more intensive colors to create the background and a combination of inks. For the lower part I used Distress Oxide Wild Honey, then I used the Orange Twist from Catherine Pooler Inks, for the middle up Distress Ink Fired Brick and for the top Distress Ink, Wilted Violet.

With VersaFine Onix I stamped my favorite butterfly, the Fancy Butterfly from Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps. I also stamped the sentiment Flying High sentiment from the same store. I resized the stamped layer with the same Embossed Edge Rectangle Frame that I used in my first card. As final touch I added a Butterfly die cut in vellum from Gina Marie.

I hope you enjoyed the projects that I prepared for the It’s a girl thing blog hop and hop with us. All the sponsors are offering prizes and this time is for a good cause. It’s a girl thing blog hop!
