May Joy Clair Challenge – Mother’s Day Card

Hi there! Just popping in to share a project featuring a few stamp sets from Joy Clair. Today is the launching of May Joy Clair Challenge and this is part of the dt inspiration. I decided to make a Mother’s Day Card.

The base of my card is Basic Gray card stock, the second layer is Whisper White cardstoc and the front layer is Rose Red cardstock. I added some details on Soft Sky cardstock just to meet the photography inspiration of the challenge.

Make this project was very fun, first because as you knew me, usually I don’t use a lot layers on my projects and if you see this, it have a lot…for me. I stamped the Doodle Flower Background  over Rose Red cardstock using VersaMark. This time I don’t embossed it because I only wanted a tone to tone stamping. Over this stamped layer, I stamped some crowns included on the stamp set  Child of the King. I used VersaMark too and gold embossing powder. But I have to be honest, I don’t wait enough time to stamp my crowns and in some parts I got gold spots because the background was also stamped with pigment ink. So be careful when you try to do that.

To cover these “imperfections” I made a Vellum cardstock banner (4layer) and decorated it with some pieces of Soft Sky cardstock that I cut using a Cross Stitched Circle from Gina Marie Designs. I tied some loops of White twine around of my card and finalized with a bow.

In a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock I stamped another crown with Rose Red Classic Ink and then over that I stamped the Mother’s Day Sentiment with VersaMark and Gold Embossing Powder. This sentiment is part of the stamp set Mother’s Day.
