Mother’s Day Card

Hi there! Mother’s day is around the corner and I decided to create a different card for my month this year. I made one created with Rinea Foiled Paper and using the inlaid technique or piecing technique.

Basically this is a die cutting card with a stamp sentiment.

To make the card base I used Pretty Pink cardstock. It is in regular size 4-1/4″x11″ with score in 5-1/2″. I pasted a basic black layer directly over the card base. The size of this is 4″x5-1/4″.

I don’t have the exactly name of this die cut set because it was a prize that I received as winner on a Challenge, but like I love flowers I found it perfectly to develop my technique.

First, I cut the flower branch in Very Vanilla cardstock. I keep all the negative pieces in place to paste behind of the Rinea Paper foiled and gave more consistency to the branch. Also I cut the branch of flowers in Violet/Violet starstruck Rinea Foiled Paper and Blush/Gold Glossy Rinea Foiled Paper.

I interchange the colors of the flowers and pasted the negative parts of Rinea Foiled Paper over the negative parts of cardstock to assemble the flowers.

I repeated the process with the leaves using two different tones of Rinea starstruck Foiled Paper. I used Emerald/Emerald Starstruck and Jade/Jade Starstruck.

When I was satisfied with the color combination of my branch of flowers I passed it through the Xyron to add adhesive behind of the branch and paste it directly over the card.

Using Copper/Copper Starstruck Rinea Foiled Paper I cut the waves included on the die cut set and pasted on the lower part of the card.

To finalize my card, I added one of the sentiments included on the new stamp set Mother’s Day Love of Joy Clair and pasted it with dimensionals or double sided foam tape.

You can develop this technique with any type of die cut. Just keep in mind that you need to have all the negative pieces to use them on the inlaid process.
